3 Solubility It is freely soluble in ethanol (95%), in chloroform and in ether; soluble in fixed oils, boiling water and slightly soluble in water.

5 Arsenic Not more than 2 ppm.
6 Readily Oxidisable substances Not more than 0.5 ml of 0.1 M potassium permanganate is required.
7 Readily carbonisable substances The colour of the solution is not more intense than that of reference solution YS5.
8 Cinnamic acid No odour of benzaldehyde is developed.
9 Chlorinated compounds The filtrate complies with the limit test for chlorides.
10 Heavy metals Not more than 10 ppm.
11 Sulfated ash Not more than 0.1%.
12 Water Not more than 0.7%.
13 Assay Not less than 99.5% and not more than 100.5%, calculated on the anhydrous basis.

PACKAGING

MOLBEN® ACID is packed in HDPE bag or HDPE drum with double PE liners inside having bar-coded label and tamper-evident seal.

The shelf life is 3 years. Preserve in well-closed containers.
